De smallBMS kan de VE.Bus BMS V2 in verschillende toepassingen vervangen. Echter, is het niet geschikt voor gebruik met de VE.Bus MultiPlus en Quattro omvormers/laders: het beschikt niet over een VE.Bus interface. De smallBMS is bestemd voor gebruik met de Victron Smart LiFePo4 accu's met M8 circulaire connectoren.

De smallBMS heeft twee uitgangen, hetzelfde als bij de VE.Bus BMS V2.
