The VE.Bus BMS and VE.Bus BMS V2 are battery management systems (BMS) designed to interface with and protect one or more Lithium Battery Smart 12.8V & 25.6V batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP) in systems with Victron inverters or inverter/chargers equipped with VE.Bus communication. The BMS monitors and protects the batteries against individual cell overvoltage and undervoltage, and against overtemperature or undertemperature.
Depending on the status of the battery or batteries, the BMS will:
- Provides a pre-alarm to warn of impending low voltage in the cell.
- Switch off the inverter when the voltage in the cell is too low; for VE.Bus inverters or inverter/chargers this is done via the VE-Bus, and for other loads via the "Load disconnect" terminal.
- Switching off in case of overvoltage or overtemperature in the cell; for VE.Bus inverters or inverter/chargers, charging is switched off via the VE-Bus, for other chargers it is switched off via the "Load disconnect" terminal.
- External on/off connection terminals.
- Able to power off VE.Direct and VE.Can solar chargers via a GX device.
- Ability to control the VE.Bus inverter/charger from multiple devices, such as the Digital Multi Control, the VE.Bus Smart dongle and/or a GX device.
- Auxiliary power input and auxiliary power output terminals allow a GX device to remain powered even when the system is powered down.
